Treatment in benign growth of the prostate (hyperplasia), that causes problems in passing water.
Best to be taken with water. Indepent of meals. Do not chew.
How do they work? Tamsulosin tablets relax the muscle of the prostate gland widening the urethra and so relieving the symptoms of BPH.
How long do you take them for?
As long as the enlargment of the prostate excists. Mostly the rest of your life.
When does the effect show or when is it noticeable?
After about 5 days there is a steady state situation and it wil be easier to pass water.
What are the side effects if any?
Because it is an alfa-blocker it has effect on the neural system and may cause lower bloodpressure; vertigo, dizziness. Other side effects are: Rash, pruritus, urticaria,
constipation, diarrhoea, nausea, and vomiting.
How do you take them?
Once daily, at the same time every day with water. it should be swallowed in whole not to break the prolonged release system.
Can I take this if I am Pregnant, want to conceive or if Iam breast feeding?

BPH means that the prostate gland enlarges (hypertrophy) but the growth is not cancerous (it is benign). This occurs mainly in older men and is fairly common. You cannot prevent it, but be aware of it and contact your doctor as soon as you have a problem passing water.
