Anti-acid, protonpump inhibitor.
In gastric and duodenal ulcer treatment and prevention of reoccurrence. Oesophageal (acid) reflux and Oesophagitis.
Also used for prevention of stomach problems caused by anti-inflammatory medication, as well as treatment of peptic ulcers caused by Helicobacter pylori.
How do they work?
Proton Pump inhibitors reduce the acidic content of the stomach by blocking the pump that brings the acid in to the stomach.
How long do you take them for?
Take as prescribed by your doctor, once or twice daily, for a month. Each dose will work for about twelve to twenty-four hours. Sometimes you need to take them for a longer period of time depending on the symptoms.
When does the effect show or when is it noticeable?
It will reduce acid reflux, and stomach upset; pain. It will help to heal peptic ulcers. It will take at least 24 hours to notice the first relief of symptoms.
What are the side effects if any?
Nausea, diarrhoea, headache, skin rash
And hypersensitivity.
How do you take them?
Take it once daily before or with your breakfast with enough water. If you have to take it twice daily, take the next dose twelve hours later. You can dissolve the Zoton fastab.
Can I take this if I am Pregnant, want to conceive or if Iam breast feeding?
It is not advised to take lansoprazole while being pregnant or during breast-feeding.
Lifestyle:
Take enough time for your meals, chew well. Watch your diet. Take exercise, avoid stress. Do not smoke, while using this medication, better: stop smoking.
